Springfield Police were dispatched to Main St. in Springfield, VT for a report of an assault. 
Upon investigation, William Plaster was cited into Windsor Superior Court-Criminal Division for alleged domestic assault.  

Plaster was subsequently lodged by Vermont Probation and Parole at Southern State Correctional Facility-Springfield.

On Sunday, 05/28/2017 at approximately 08:37 hours, Springfield Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on River St. 
As a result of this stop, the operator, Heather J. Spaulding, was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine. 
Spaulding was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal on July 18, 2017 to answer to this charge.

OPIATE PUBLIC FORUM – SPRINGFIELD VERMONT
 
Waterbury VT / May 30, 2017 - Members of public safety, including the Springfield Police Department, Vermont State Police and the Vermont Intelligence Center, will hold a public forum to discuss the ongoing opioid crisis in Windsor County, Tuesday, May 30th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, at the Riverside Middle School in Springfield, VT.  We invite all interested and concerned citizens to attend, join the conversation, and learn how we can confront this issue together.
 
The forum will offer attendees the opportunity to hear from Chief Douglas Johnston of the Springfield Police Department, Commissioner Thomas Anderson of the Vermont Department of Public Safety, and representatives of the Vermont Intelligence Center.  A  PowerPoint presentation will present an overall view of the crisis in Vermont, how it impacts all our communities, and relate what Vermont law enforcement is doing to address the crisis.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the attending officials in a panel forum.

Nieves was was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on May 22nd to answer to the alleged charges.

A witness reported that Bateman had drifted over the yellow center lines on Clinton Street and then drifted back across two lanes of traffic and almost stuck a curb. 
Bateman was located, stopped, screened, cited, ticketed, and her vehicle was towed. At the time of this incident, Bateman's privilege to operate was allegedly civilly suspended.

Bateman was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on June 20th.

On April 26th at approximately 10:46 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on River Street. 
A search of the vehicle and all occupants was conducted and Thompson was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin. Thompson allegedly also gave a false name during the traffic stop and a warrant is being requested for her arrest.

On May 19th at approximately 7:16 pm officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Lewis Street. 
A search of the vehicle and all occupants was conducted and Michael Randlett was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine. 
Randlett was arrested and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing. and was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on July 18th to answer to the alleged charge of Possession of Cocaine.

On the morning of May 22nd' 2017 Officers responded to 11 Union Street for a report of an assault that had taken place. After a brief investigation it was determined that Sarah Barrett allegedly assaulted a house mate.
Barrett appeared later this date, May 22nd, for arraignment in Windsor County Criminal Court.

Arrest - Sale of Heroin

                        Christine Carvage, 50, Springfield VT 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: During the 2016/2017 time frame the Springfield Police Department began an investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics by various subjects located or selling drugs at various locations in town. 

On May 19, 2017 the Springfield Police Department arrested Jessica Wood and Christine Carvage for allegedly selling heroin. Wood's and Carvage's arrest were part of an ongoing investigation by SPD into subjects specifically selling heroin in the town of Springfield.

Wood will appear on July 11th and Carvage on August 8th in Windsor County Criminal Court to answer to the alleged charge of  Sale of Heroin.

On Friday, 05/12/2017 at approximately 14:41 hours, Christopher Demond was stopped by Springfield Police on Brook Road for allegedly exceeding the speed limit by 58 miles per hour. As a result of this stop, Demond was cited for the offense of Excessive Speed.
Demond will appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on June 27, 2017

On May 13th, Officers were asked to check on a male subject at the McDonalds who was described as not acting right. On arrival contact was made with Nourse who allegedly appeared to be impaired
During the investigation a small amount of heroin was located. A search was conducted of the vehicle and several pieces of paraphernalia were also located.
Nourse was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on July 11, 2017 to answer to the alleged charge.

Defendant:  Lisa Marie Wilkinson, 23, Brattleboro


On Thursday, 05/11/2017 at approximately 23:21 hours, Officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a residence on River St. for a reported dispute. 

As a result of this investigation, Lisa Marie Wilkinson was arrested without incident for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend and allegedly interfering with access to emergency services.

Wilkinson was arraigned later that day in Windsor County Criminal Court on the above charges.

On May 9, 2017 at approximately 1745 hours Officers of the Springfield Police Department made contact with Sharon Michaud who had an active arrest warrant. Michaud was subsequently arrested     and lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility to await court on May 10, 2017 at 1230 hours.

On May 8th 2017 it was reported by the Officer of Probation and Parole that a subject in their lobby had allegedly violated his active pretrial conditions of release. I responded to the office and spoke with the alleged offender. 
The subject was processed and released with a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on June 20, 2017 for the alleged offense.



Witness Request



Springfield Police is investigating a collision which occurred last Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Main Street and Park Street/Summer Street intersection. 

The collision involved a vehicle passing through the intersection from Park Street to Summer Street when I was hit by a vehicle turning left onto Park Street from Main Street. 

Springfield Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision to call Springfield Police at (802) 885- 2113.
