Springfield Police received a
report of a suicidal male at a residence on Connecticut River Road. Investigation found
that male had made a remark that his wife made feel like he wants to kill himself during a
domestic altercation.
In speaking with the wife she advised Smith had grabbed her and thrown
her around. This caused injuries to her. Smith was located at the couple's
residence and was taken into custody without incident. He denied wanting to hurt
himself.
He was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor
Unit on August 9th to answer to the allegation of Domestic Assault.
