Case Number: 17SF010132
Investigating Officer: A/Sgt. Moriglioni
Date of Incident: October 27, 2017
Defendant: Joshua Crowson, 26, Rutland, VT
On
October 27, 2017 Officers responded to the Mascoma Bank for the report of a male
subject vomitting in the driveway and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
The vehicle reportedly drove away while
police were responding. It is alleged that the vehicle was seen by officers, but then created a distance and
disappeared. It was thought that the operator
of the vehicle was suspended. After a search of the surrounding area, the vehicle was located at a
residence on Monument Hill.
After
the use of a canine unit which did a track, and an eye witness that saw the subject run from the car to the rear of the
residence, it was determined that the suspect was possibly inside the residence.
The owner was
contacted and was enroute. An announcement was made over the loud speaker to exit the house. Approximately ten minutes
later, it is alleged that Joshua
Crowson exited the residence. It is alleged that he did not have permission to
enter the residence and did so knowing that he did not have a right to
do so. The owner confirmed that Crowson was not allowed there, when nobody else
was.
Crowson was cited to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit located in White River Junction, Vermont on October 31, 2017 at 0800 hours to answer the charges of Burglary and Unlawful Trespass.
