Arrest - Grand Larceny & False Information to Police

Case Number:  17SF009388

Investigating Officer:  Sergeant Molgano

Date of Arrest:  November 14, 2017

Defendant:  Meagan Prue, 26, Bellows Falls
A package reportedly containing four pieces of jewelry was reportedly delivered to the defendant by mistake by UPS on September 29th, 2017. When police requested the return of the misdelivered package, the defendant allegedly told the officer that she had dropped the package off at the Springfield Post Office.
Investigation revealed that no postal employees took receipt of said UPS package from the defendant. Upon further investigation, the defendant admitted to having two of the four pieces of jewelry in her possession, and she allegedly acknowledged providing the officer with misleading information because she was scared. The defendant was provided the opportunity to avoid a larceny charge by returning the other two pieces of jewelry; however, she allegedly claimed that she did not possess the two
missing pieces of jewelry.
One missing piece of jewelry is valued in the hundreds of dollars, and the other missing piece of jewelry is valued in the thousands of dollars.
Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of the missing jewelry is asked to contact Sergeant Gregory Molgano at 802-885-2113.
Prue was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 9th 2018 to answer to the alleged charges.
