Arrest - Disorderly Conduct

Defendant:  Heather Byrne, 48 Springfield, VT

While in the hallway of the busy Springfield Hospital ER, Byrne became agitated and picked up a cup of coffee and threw it down the hallway, nearly striking the security officer and a Sheriffs Deputy. 
Byrne was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 23, 2018 to answer the the alleged charge.

On 11/25/2017 at approximately 0306 hours Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Truck Stop. The operator was alleged to be Tasha Tenney. Tenney was found to be criminally suspended. Tenney was issued a citation for Criminal DLS to appear at a later date.

Defendant:  Rodney Gleason, 59, Springfield, VT


Officers were called to a report of a physical altercation at a residence. Probable cause was found to charge Gleason with Domestic Assault. 
A review of his criminal history found prior convictions to make this an enhanced aggravated charge. Gleason was ordered held until sober for the alleged offense and will be arraigned on November 28th.

On November 22, 2017 at approximately 10:40 pm Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation on Church Street in North Springfield. The operator was alleged to be Codi Merlin. 
Following a brief investigation, Merlin was arrested for alleged DUI and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing. Merlin was issued a citation  to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on December 5th to answer to the alleged charge of DUI.

On November 18, 2017 Officers came into contact with Miranda Sevene. During a search of Sevene she was allegedly found to be in possession of Heroin. Sevene was arrested and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing. 
Sevene was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court to answer to the alleged charge of Possession of Heroin on January 9, 2018.

Gilliam allegedly violated his furlough conditions by traveling to the state of New Hampshire.

Arrest - Possession of Bath Salts & Possession of Heroin

Defendant:  Jesse LaFlam Sr., 45,  Springfield, Vermont
On 11/18/2017 at approximately 0818 hours Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Paddock Road. The operator was alleged to be Jesse LaFlam Sr. A search of Jesse and the vehicle was conducted and Jesse was found to allegedly be in possession of Heroin and Bath Salts. 
LaFlam was arrested and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing and issued a citation for Possession of Heroin and Possession of Bath Salts to appear on November 20, 2017 in Windsor County Criminal Court. 
LaFlam was then lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $12,000 cash or surety bail.

Arrest - 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault & Disorderly Conduct

On 11-19-2017 Officers were called to a residence where neighbors could hear a female screaming for someone to help her. On arrival Officers allegedly saw a male subject standing over a female about to strike her. The male subject was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Department. The female was transported to the Springfield Hospital where she was treated for injuries allegedly caused by the defendant. 
The defendant was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash or surety and arraigned on November 20th in Windsor County Criminal Court.

Defendant:  Brooks Achin, 31, East Hampton, MA
On 11-20-2017 A traffic stop was conduct on a vehicle for an alleged minor traffic violation. 

During the course of the stop the Officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in locating more than an ounce of marijuana.

The defendant was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 9th, 2018 and released.

A juvenile, known to officers was observed driving on Main Street while I was on foot patrol on 11/13/17. 

She was confirmed to be Criminally Suspended. She was located by Ludlow PD on 11/16/17 and processed and cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 9, 2018, for the alleged violation.

On August 3, 2017 at approximately 1840 hours officers of the Springfield Police Department were dispatched to 54 Bridge Street for a report of a stolen gun. 
After investigating the theft, it was found that Britian Stocker had allegedly stolen the gun from 54 Bridge Street in order to allegedly buy drugs. 
On November 7, 2017 Stocker was issued a citation to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit on January 9, 2018 at 0800 hours.

Arrest - Outstanding Warrant

Defendant:  Kody Sanderson, 22, Springfield, VT
Police stopped an allegedly speeding motor vehicle on Charlestown Road by Exit 7. The rear seat passenger allegedly had an outstanding warrant remanding him to the custody of the Department of Corrections.  Sanderson was subsequently lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility on the warrant.

Arrest - Grand Larceny & False Information to Police

Defendant:  Meagan Prue, 26, Bellows Falls
A package reportedly containing four pieces of jewelry was reportedly delivered to the defendant by mistake by UPS on September 29th, 2017. When police requested the return of the misdelivered package, the defendant allegedly told the officer that she had dropped the package off at the Springfield Post Office. 
Investigation revealed that no postal employees took receipt of said UPS package from the defendant. Upon further investigation, the defendant admitted to having two of the four pieces of jewelry in her possession, and she allegedly acknowledged providing the officer with misleading information because she was scared. The defendant was provided the opportunity to avoid a larceny charge by returning the other two pieces of jewelry; however, she allegedly claimed that she did not possess the two
missing pieces of jewelry. 
One missing piece of jewelry is valued in the hundreds of dollars, and the other missing piece of jewelry is valued in the thousands of dollars. 
Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of the missing jewelry is asked to contact Sergeant Gregory Molgano at 802-885-2113.  
Prue was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 9th 2018 to answer to the alleged charges.

Arrest - Retail Theft - False Info to an LEO

Springfield Police were dispatched to River St. in Springfield, VT for a report of a shoplifting. Upon investigation, Brooke Class was cited into Windsor Superior Court-Criminal Division for alleged retail theft and false information to a law enforcement officer.

On 10-2-2017 Officers were called to the Holiday Inn express reference a noise disturbance in one of their rooms. On arrival the occupants were removed from the premises as requested by Hotel staff. The room sustained several hundred dollars in damages which the defendant was alleged to have been responsible for.
Lawrence was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 9th 2018 to answer to the alleged charge.

On the afternoon of 11/08/17, the Springfield Police Department received reports of an erratic driver who had allegedly crossed the yellow center lines multiple times and almost collided with other vehicles. 
The vehicle in question was subsequently located and stopped. Following a roadside investigation, the operator, Mary Sauve, was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 2nd, 2018 to answer to the alleged charge of Negligent Operation.

Turco arrested on the allegation of Driving after License Suspension. He was released on a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 9th 2018.

On 11-11-2017 probation and parole contacted the Springfield Police Department reference one of their clients who allegedly had an active arrest warrant in the State of New Hampshire. The client identified as Shalon Barth was taken into custody at the Springfield Probation and Parole office with out incident and subsequently lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $5000 bail.

On 11/07/2017 at approximately 2119 hours Officers conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Edgar May building. The operator of the vehicle allegedly attempted to switch seats with the passenger. The operator was identified as Tammy Sears. Sears was arrested for DUI and Criminal DLS and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing. 
Sears was issued citations for DUI and Criminal DLS  and ordered to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on November 28th to answer to the alleged charges.

Defendant:  Lee M. Smith, 69, Suffield, CT
On November 9, 2017 a BOL was issued for an alleged erratic operator on Interstate 91 Northbound. While checking the area of Exit 7, a vehicle matching the description was located getting onto Interstate 91 Southbound. 
The vehicle was allegedly crossing out of the travel lane, at one point traveling down the breakdown lane of the interstate. The operator showed indicators of being impaired and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Smith was processed, Cited into Windsor County Criminal Court for November 28th  and released to a family member. 
Springfield PD was assisted by the Vermont State Police and a Vermont State Game Warden.

On the evening of November 10, 2017 a witness alleged that a vehicle had driven over a curb and nearly hit a guard rail and then pulled into a garage. Officers responded to the residence in question and after investigating determined who the operator was. 
The subject was taken into custody and issued a citation for Windsor County Criminal Court on November 28th for allegedly being impaired while driving.

On the evening of November 11, 2017 It is alleged that an encounter ensued between Christine Carvage and Acting Sergeant Moriglioni when Carvage was allegedly leaving a known drug house. 
Carvage was arrested for allegedly having a misdemeanor amount of heroin on her person and cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 9, 2018.

On October 17, 2017 a motor vehicle stop was conducted for several motor vehicle violations. The vehicle was seized pending the application of a search warrant for suspicion of drug activity. Upon executing the warrant, a felony amount of heroin as well as misdemeanor amounts of cocaine, bath salts, and prescription narcotic pills were seized. 
Thomas Chase was later charged for the alleged possession and cited into Windsor County Criminal Court to appear on January 9, 2018.
