Summary of Incident: On October 21, 2018 the Vermont State Police issued an alert to Be On the Lookout (BOL) for a vehicle that was allegedly operating erratically and failing to maintain it's lane position. I located the described vehicle and it was allegedly exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon making contact with the operator, he allegedly displayed signs of alcohol impairment. He was taken into custody and processed for DUI.
Taylor was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on 11/6/18 to answer to the alleged charge.

On 10/19/2018 at approximately 1811 hours the defendant came to the PD to submit a preliminary breath test. The defendant violated his conditions of release. The defendant blew a .040 on the PBT and a .035 on the DMT. One of his conditions was that he could not drink alcoholic beverages. Dispatch advised that the defendant was criminal DLS and showed footage of the defendant driving to the parking lot of the Irving next door. Cardinal was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on 12/11/2018 to answer to the alleged charge of Violation of Conditions of Release and Criminal DLS.

On 10/07/2018 Officers made contact with Justin Farnsworth who was acting suspicious while leaving Jake's Market on Clinton Street. A search of Justin was conducted and items from the market were located that were allegedly stolen. Justin was issued a citation for Retail Theft appear at a later date.

Summary of Incident:
On October 8, 2018 staff at the Black River Kwik Stop, a gas station/convenience store, located on River Street, Springfield reported a theft that had occurred the previous day. Investigation, which included reviewing the store's surveillance video, found cause to charge Farnsworth with the alleged crime' of Retail Theft. He is accused of taking two small containers of wine, each valued at less than four ($4.00) dollars each.
Farnsworth was cited to appear in Windsor Country Criminal Court on December 4, 2018 to answer to the alleged charge of Retail Theft.

On 10/07/2018 at 1730 hours I was dispatched to the Elm Hill School located at 10 Hoover Street in Springfield, VT for the report of vandalism to the school. 
There was damage to the door security key pads and the screens to the windows of the school. 
Both of the juveniles were seen on security camera footage causing the damage. 
Both juveniles were cited to appear in Windsor County Family Court on 01/02/2019 to answer to the alleged charge of Unlawful Mischief.

Summary of Incident:
On October 6, 2018 at 2001 hours Springfield Police made a motor vehicle stop for a stop sign violation and defective equipment. The operator was identified as Gabert and a subsequent check of her license status through Vermont DMV indicated her license/privilege to drive was suspended criminally. 
Gabert was issued a citation on scene for the alleged crime of driving after license suspension. Gabert was cited to appear in Windsor Country Criminal Court on November 27, 2018 to answer to the alleged charge. She was then released on the citation to appear from the scene. 
A licensed driver was summoned to the scene and took over driving.

On 10/04/2018 Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Hoover Street. Terence Can was allegedly a passenger in the vehicle. Terence had an active arrest warrant for Sales of Heroin and was taken into custody without issue. 
Terence was transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing. The Windsor County Sheriffs Department then transported Terence to the Windsor Country Criminal Court.

Summary of Incident: During the months of April and May, the Springfield Police Department began an investigation into sale and distribution of narcotics by various subjects located or selling drugs at various locations in town.
On September 21, 2018 the Springfield Police Department arrested Peter Brooks for allegedly selling heroin. Brooks' arrest was part of an ongoing investigation by Springfield Police Department into subjects specifically selling heroin in and around the town of Springfield.
Peter Brooks was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on November 20, 2018 to answer to the alleged charges of Sale of Heroin.

Summary of Incident: On August 17, 2018, officers responded to a reported fight at the Penguin Mart/Dunkin Donuts located on Clinton Street. 

Investigation revealed that Mooney and Briggs allegedly engaged in a fight causing injuries to each other. In addition Mooney allegedly trespassed by going into an "employee only" area of Dunkin Donuts. McCarthy-Clark later arrived at the scene and allegedly engaged in a shoving match with Mooney in the parking lot.

All three subjects have been cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on 11/20/18 to answer to the alleged charges.

On 10/05/2018 at approximately 1547 hours I served a temporary relief from abuse order on the defendant. 
One of the conditions of the relief from abuse order was after being served, the defendant was to immediately vacate the residence. The defendant advised that he would not vacate the residence. Densmore was placed into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing. 
Densmore was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on 10/08/2018 to answer to the alleged charge of Violation of Abuse Prevention Order. Densmore was subsequently lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash or surety bail.

Summary of Incident:
On October 7, 2018 at approximately 0158 hours Springfield Police checked a parking area at the North Springfield Dam where illegal activity is known to take place. 
Upon checking a vehicle in the parking lot it was found to be occupied by Daniels and a male subject. 
Routine checks on both revealed that Daniels was on Conditions of Release from court. One of her conditions is that she not have contact with the male that she as in the car with. 
Daniels was cited to appear in Windsor Country Criminal Court on November 13, 2018 to answer to the alleged charge of Violation of Conditions of Release. After being processed at the Springfield Police station she was released on the citation to appear.

A check of her license status found her Vermont driver's license/privilege to drive was currently under suspension.

On Saturday, 09/29/18, Springfield Police conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. Lowden was a passenger in the vehicle and is known to have an outstanding VT arrest warrant. 
Lowden was arrest without incident and transported to the Springfield Police Department. There he was processed and issued a citation to appear in Windsor Country Criminal Court on Monday, October 1, 2018 to answer to the arrest warrant, which had been issued for a failure to appear in court. 
Lowden was subsequently lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $200.00 cash or surety bail.

One of the aides who works at the Brookwood Estates witnessed some of the offense and was able to provide a sworn written statement. 

Furchak was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on 11/20/2018 to answer to the alleged charge of Unlawful Mischief.

The Springfield Police Department wants you to know that the winter time parking ban takes effect November 1, 2018 and ends on April 15, 2019.
The winter time parking ban prohibits any vehicle from being parked on a street or highway in the town of Springfield between the hours of 1:00 am and 7:00 am. Any vehicle found to be in violation of the parking ban will be ticketed and towed if necessary.
