On Tuesday, 08/01/2017 at approximately 14:00 hours, Springfield Police responded
to the intersection of Park St. and Main St. for a report of a pedestrian that had been
struck by a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that a 2006 Ford Explorer had collided
with an adult who was operating a motorized wheelchair.
The adult operator of the
Ford Explorer didn't receive any injuries. The operator of the motorized wheelchair was transported to
the Springfield Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The Springfield Police Department was assisted by the
Springfield Fire Department and the Springfield Highway Department at the scene.
