Summary of Incident:
Springfield Police received a report of a possible drunk
driver on Union Street.
Caller gave a description of the vehicle and advised
that someone threw a beer can out the window of the vehicle. Officers located and stopped the
vehicle on Elm Hill Road.
The operator, identified as James A. Currie of Springfield,
VT, allegedly showed signs of impairment and road side sobriety tests were conducted.
Currie was taken into custody for suspected DUI and processed at the
Springfield Police Department. Currie also did not have a current driver's
license and was issued a traffic ticket for allegedly driving without a license.
Currie was cited to appear in Windsor Country Criminal Court on June 19, 2018 to answer to the alleged
charge of Driving Under the Influence.
