Summary of
Incident:
On August 11, 2018, officers were called to the downtown area to
check on a possibly intoxicated individual who was allegedly unconscious
outside on the
ground. Upon arrival he had been woken up and walked away, but was found sleeping on a stairway
nearby.
He was allegedly incapacitated by what was believed to be alcohol. He was taken into
protective custody and transported to the Springfield Hospital for medical
clearance. While at the hospital he allegedly became disorderly, yelling and swearing and
threatening officers in a manner that disturbed other patients in the hospital, including a
young family.
Baran was
cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on 10/2/18 to answer to the alleged charge. He was
taken to the Southern State Correctional Facility as an incapacitated person.
