Summary of Incident:
On the night of 8/31/18, a resident of Pearl Street
contacted the Springfield Police Department to report that an unknown male had knocked on his door
holding what appeared to be bags containing heroin and had accused him of selling the stuff
to his girlfriend.
The caller reportedly told the man that he had the wrong house and
directed him to the house next door. Springfield Police later stopped to speak
with Morrell, who fit the description of the mystery knocker, after he was observed emerging from Park Street while
engaged in a dispute with a female.
A warrants
check revealed that Morrell had an active 2017 warrant for his arrest for the
alleged sale of heroin. Morrell was
arrested and lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
